The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC-PNP) Skills Immigration (SI) stream is for people who have the skills, experience, and qualifications that an employer in British Columbia requires and wish to live and work in British Columbia as a permanent resident.
To apply for BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC-PNP) Skills Immigration, applicants under the Skilled Worker, Entry Level and Semi-Skilled, and International Graduate categories must first register with the BCPNP’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). This enables BCPNP to access the applicant’s credentials, including job title, location in British Columbia, education, language ability, and wage, and compare them to labour market needs.
On the other hand applicant under categories including HealthCare Professional and International Post-Graduate can apply directly through BCPNP Online.
After completing the registration process, applicants will be assigned a score and placed in the selection pool for the chosen category, where their profile will remain active for 12 months. Applicants with the highest scores are more likely to be invited.
After receiving an invitation, applicants must submit an application within 30 calendar days using the BCPNP Online tool, with a CAD $1,150 application processing fee.
Following submission, the BCPNP will evaluate the application in accordance with the Provincial Immigration Programs Act and Regulation, as well as the criteria specific to the Skills Immigration category. If the application is approved, a nomination will be issued, which can be used to apply for permanent residence.
