Since the very beginning of the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic, various governments of the world had stopped their immigration services. This created an impact on the livelihood of multitudes of foreign workers who had gone to countries that are not of their origin, in search of work and a better standard of living. However, with the world slowly easing itself out of the lockdown that had been imposed by various governments on its people, countries such as Canada have realized the importance of letting foreign workers come and give these countries a much-needed boost in their economy.
The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has been looking for ways to better serve the applicants who have shown interest in immigrating to Canada, now that the world is seen slowly coming out of the economic slump, a state of normalcy can be expected in the process of immigration applications. As a result of the return to normalcy, the IRCC shall also stop giving extensions to individuals for the processing of their application, however, individuals who can produce proof that their application process is being hampered due to Covid-19 related problems shall still be given an extension period for the completion of their application process.
Foreign nationals whose application for a visitor visa or permanent residence has been approved are not eligible to travel to Canada at this specific time unless they are exempt from travel restrictions.
Individuals who are unable to provide proof of documentation due to Covid-19 related mishaps will be required to show proof of their situation within 30 days of being notified by the immigration officials, after which if their situation is found to be reasonable enough the individual shall be contacted for more information by the immigration officials of Canada. If a group of individuals is affected by pandemic lockdown the IRCC officials may choose to not contact them till the time their issue is resolved by their specific governments.
