Alberta Express Entry Stream

The Alberta Express Entry Stream permits Alberta to nominate a limited number of qualifying candidates through the Express Entry system of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Alberta PNP Eligibility Criteria

Alberta may choose applicant and send them a Notification of Interest letter in their federal Express Entry profile based on available profile information in the federal Express Entry site. If the applicant meet the following criteria, he may receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) letter:

• The applicant must show an interest in living and working in Alberta permanently.
• The primary work experience of the applicant should not be in an occupation on Alberta’s ineligible list.
• The applicant should have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 300.

How to Increase the Chances of receiving an Invitation?

If an applicant meets one or more of the criteria stated below, they may receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) from Alberta. These are the factors:

• Possessing a job offer and/or work experience from Alberta.
• Have a post-secondary education from an Alberta-based college or university
• Having an immediate family member (parent, child, spouse, brother, or sister) who lives in Alberta.

Factors that may Reduce Chances of receiving an Invitation

If an applicant meets one or more of the following criteria, the chances of receiving a Notification of Interest letter may be reduced. These factors are:

• The Express Entry profile is going to expire in 5 months or less.
• Applicant work in an occupation, which is
• On the list of High-wage and low-wage occupations in the province of Alberta set out on the online Government of Canada Refusal to Process a Labour Market Impact Assessment list.
• On the Alberta Opportunity Stream Ineligible Occupations list, or
• Has a high volume of submissions across all AINP streams.
