Canada PR Visa Processing Time

Processing time for a Canada PR visa varies with the type of application submitted by the application, as each application is different and takes a different amount of time to process.

  • Generally, the processing time starts the IRCC (i.e. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) receives a complete application from the applicant and ends when a decision has been made.
  • If submitted by mail the processing time starts when the application arrives in IRCC’s mailroom, whereas if the application is submitted online or in person, the processing time starts when the applicant submits his/ her application.

Note: After COVID IRCC proposed an online system for the immigration programs that need to submit applications offline.
