Ontario Issued 510 Invitations in Skilled Trades Stream Draw

Ontario Immigration Nominee Program (OINP) held a draw on February 9, 2023, inviting 510 immigrants under Ontario Express Entry’s Skilled Trade Stream.

This draw was for the profiles created on February 9, 2022 to February 9, 2023 under Immigration Refugees Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC) Express Entry System. Immigrants with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score anywhere from 260 to 489 were given the Notification of Interest (NOI’s).

Candidates who had the work experience in the following NOC’s were given the invite:

NOC 72024: Supervisors, motor transport and other ground transit
NOC 72106: Welders and related machine operators
NOC 72204: Telecommunications line and cable installers and repairers
NOC 72310: Carpenters
NOC 73112: Painters and decorators (except interior decorators)

What are the minimum eligibility requirements for Ontario Express Entry’s Skilled Trade Stream?

An applicant must have 1 year’s cumulative full time paid work experience in Ontario, within the last 2 years from the date of submitting the application to the OINP.
Your occupation must fall under Ontario Major Groups 72, 73, 82, 83, 93 or Minor Group 6320 of the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
You must have a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 5 or higher in either English or French Language.

How to apply for Ontario Express Entry’s Skilled Trade Stream?

Step 1: Ensure your eligibility for Express Entry.
Step 2: Create a profile in IRCC’s Express Entry System.
Step 3: If you receive Notification of Interest (NOI) through Express Entry’s Skilled Trade Stream submit your application within 45 calendar days from the day of receiving Notification of Interest (NOI).
Step 4: Pay the application fee ($1500) as you submit your application.
