What is the eligibility criteria for French Speaking Workers Stream Draw?

The French-speaking skilled worker stream is designed for individuals who have a strong command of the French language and want to immigrate to Canada. Here are some general steps and eligibility criteria:

  • Language Proficiency: To be eligible, you must demonstrate proficiency in both French and English. However, the emphasis is on French language skills. You may need to provide language test results from authorized organizations like the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) for English and Test d’évaluation de français (TEF) or Test de Connaissance du français (TCF) for French.
  • Education: You must have completed a post-secondary education or have an equivalent foreign credential. The Canadian government will evaluate your educational qualifications to determine their equivalency in Canada.
  • Work Experience: You must have at least one year of full-time work experience (or equivalent part-time experience) in a skilled occupation within the past five years. The work experience should be in a field classified under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill levels 0, A, or B.
  • Validated Job Offer (optional): Alternatively, you can have a valid job offer for a position in Quebec that has been approved by the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI).
  • Proof of Funds: You may be required to show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family members during your initial stay in Canada. The exact amount will depend on the number of family members accompanying you.
  • Medical and Security Clearances: As part of the immigration process, you and your family members will need to undergo medical examinations and obtain security clearances to ensure admissibility to Canada.
