What is the BC PNP Tech Program?

A labor market assessment that identified access to talent as the largest challenge confronting BC’s technology sector led to the establishment of BC PNP Tech in May 2017 as a pilot project. BC made the experiment a permanent program as a result of its success. It is intended to make it possible for firms in the technology industry of British Columbia to continue to entice and choose top talent from abroad when qualified people are not readily accessible locally.

What are the basic eligibility criteria for BC PNP?

More precisely, BC PNP Tech offers a quick immigration route for foreign students and in-demand tech professionals. Candidates must have a legitimate work offer valid for at least 12 months in one of the 29 qualifying occupations and be registered in one of BC’s current provincial immigration streams in order to be eligible for the stream.

In contrast to other BC PNP streams, those seeking jobs under the BC PNP Tech stream must have 120 days left on their current employment contracts when they apply for the program. Additionally, it needs to be from a province-wide qualifying employer and full-time.

How to apply for BC Tech PNP?

To the top-scoring applicants who meet the requirements, the province’s tech program sends weekly invitations.

In order for candidates to be considered for provincial nomination, a complete application must be submitted. It usually takes two to three months for tech applications to be approved after this has been completed.

Candidates who are accepted will be given a nomination confirmation from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) that they can use to apply for permanent residence under the Provincial Nominee Programme Class.

Candidates for the PNP have a very excellent chance of earning an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence through the Express Entry system because they immediately receive 600 points for their Comprehensive Ranking System score.
