British Columbia Issued 211 Invitations in Recent BCPNP Draw

On June 13, 2023, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC-PNP) held two (2) draws under the Skills Immigration (SI) and Express Entry BC (EEBC) programs for tech professionals and targeted occupations such as healthcare, and education-related occupations and other priority streams.

211 skilled workers were allowed to apply for permanent residence in Canada via British Columbia. The details of the draw, such as the number of invites and the minimum score needed in each category, are as follows:

DRAW 1

  • Draw Type: BCPNP General Draw (includes tech occupations)
  • Total Invitations Issued: 170

The minimum score for each stream

  • SI – Skilled Worker – 104
  • EEBC – Skilled Worker – 104
  • SI – International Graduate – 107
  • EEBC – International Graduate – 107
  • Entry Level and Semi-Skilled – 87

  • Invited Occupation: Early childhood educators and Assistant (NOC 42202)
  • Selected Categories: SI – Skilled Worker, EEBC – Skilled Worker, SI – International Graduate, EEBC – International Graduate
  • Count of invitations sent: 23
  • Minimum Score: 60

DRAW 3

  • Draw Type: Targeted Draw
  • Invited Occupation: Healthcare
  • Selected Categories: SI – Skilled Worker, EEBC – Skilled Worker, SI – International Graduate, EEBC – International Graduate
  • Count of invitations sent: 18
  • Minimum Score: 60

How to apply for BC PNP?

  • Stage 1: Check your eligibility before you apply for any program or category.
  • Stage 2: Registration: This step is to create a profile and register in BCPNP Online. By registering, you are creating an expression of interest (EOI) to apply to the BC PNP. Your registration will be scored based on the information you provide.
  • Stage 3: Invitation: The BC PNP will periodically send invitations to those who have registered to apply to the BC PNP. The information provided in registrations serves as the basis for invitations to apply (ITAs). The ITAs may focus on one or more elements, such as the employment region or the profession.
  • Stage 4: Application: You can apply through BCPNP Online without registering if you are qualified for the Health Worker or the International Post-Graduate stream.

How to apply for BC PNP Tech Stream?

  • After selecting a category that suits them, a candidate can register online and receive a registration score.
  • Each week, the BC PNP will run a tech draw to encourage the top-scoring technology sector registrants to apply (subject to processing capacity).
  • No later than 30 days from the invitation date, invited candidates must submit a comprehensive online application. The government fee of $1150 in Canadian currency should be initiated by the applicant.
  • The BC PNP will give the application top consideration.
  • After an applicant is approved, they are given a nomination, which they can use to file a petition for permanent residence in Canada.
  • Those who have been nominated and meet the criteria for their nomination will be given a work permit support letter so they can apply for a new work permit or renew their present one and carry on working while their application is being processed.
