Alberta PNP invites 212 applicants in the last 3 consecutive draw

On June 27, 2023, Alberta published the details of 3 consecutive draws conducted by the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), conducted on June 20th, June 21st, and June 22nd respectively. All of the mentioned draws were part of the Alberta Express Entry Stream.

A total of 212 skilled immigrants were given the opportunity to apply for a visa for permanent residence in Canada.

The following details are provided on the draws, including the number of invitations sent out and the required minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores:

• Criteria: Priority sector – Family connection and primary occupation in demand
• Invitations Issued: 125
• CRS score range: 300-500
• Minimum CRS Score: 306

Draw 2:

• Date of Draw: June 21, 2023
• Criteria: Designated Healthcare Pathway, Alberta job offer
• Invitations Issued: 19
• CRS score range: 300-1200
• Minimum CRS Score: 318

Draw 1:

• Date of Draw: June 20, 2023
• Criteria: Priority sector – Construction occupation with Alberta job offer
• Invitations Issued: 68
• CRS score range: 300-500
• Minimum CRS Score: 301

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), formerly known as the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program, extends an invitation to immigrants with the necessary qualifications and work history to immigrate to and reside in the province.

Streams for Skilled Workers

The Alberta Opportunity Stream is an option for qualified individuals who are already employed in Alberta and for foreign graduates who have finished their studies at an accredited post-secondary school in Alberta.

The AAIP encourages student applicants who can show that their training and employment abilities are in line with the demands of Alberta’s labour market to submit an application for the Alberta Opportunity Stream.

Candidates in the Express Entry program who have a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 300 may choose to apply through the Alberta General Express Entry Stream. Additionally, the candidate’s line of work must promote Alberta’s diversification and growth of its economy.

An additional 600 CRS points will be awarded if Alberta recommends the applicant, effectively ensuring that they will obtain an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in a subsequent Express Entry draw.

How to apply for Alberta PNP?

• Prior to applying, a candidate must decide which stream is best for them given their individual circumstances, based on the qualifying requirements.
• The federal Express Entry program is compatible with enhanced streams. The Alberta government may send a Notification of Interest to applicants who have used the Express Entry system and want to immigrate to the province. Applicants must reply to the Notification of Interest. They must submit an application through the AAIP site if they are selected.
• Only the Alberta Express Entry stream and the Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway have been improved in Alberta.
• Base streams make up all of Alberta’s other current streams. Candidates must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through the province’s AAIP portal in order to apply through one of these streams; they cannot be chosen using the Express Entry system.
