On September 26, 2023, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC-PNP) conducted dual draws as part of its initiatives under the Skills Immigration (SI) and Express Entry BC (EEBC) programs. These draws were specifically tailored to welcome professionals from the tech industry and targeted occupations, including those in healthcare, education-related fields, and other designated sectors.
A total of 208 skilled workers were selected to pursue their journey towards Canadian permanent residence through British Columbia. The particulars of these draws, including the quantity of invitations issued and the minimum score requirements in each category, are outlined below:

In a recent development, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) has streamlined its application process for the Tech Stream, making it easier for candidates to apply for this sought-after program.
Step 1: Determine Eligibility
Before diving into the application process, candidates are advised to thoroughly check if they meet the eligibility criteria for their chosen category within the BC PNP.
Step 2: Registration
Candidates begin by creating an online profile and registering on the BC PNP Online portal. This registration essentially serves as an Expression of Interest (EOI) to apply to the BC PNP. The key aspect here is that your registration will be assigned a score based on the information you provide.
Step 3: Receiving an Invitation
Periodically, the BC PNP will send out invitations to candidates who have registered, allowing them to formally apply for the program. These Invitations to Apply (ITAs) are based on the information submitted during registration and may focus on specific elements such as employment region or profession.
Step 4: Completing the Application
Once you receive an ITA, you have the opportunity to submit a comprehensive online application. It’s essential to note that candidates must complete this step within 30 days of receiving the invitation. Additionally, there is a government fee of $1,150 CAD that must be initiated by the applicant.
Step 5: Application Review
The BC PNP will give utmost consideration to your application. This involves a thorough review to determine your eligibility and suitability for the program.
Step 6: Nomination and Beyond
Successful applicants will be granted a nomination by the BC PNP, which can be used to apply for permanent residence in Canada. Those who meet the criteria for their nomination will also receive a work permit support letter, enabling them to apply for or renew their work permit while their permanent residence application is being processed.
For certain categories like the Health Worker or the International Post-Graduate stream, candidates have the option to apply directly without the need for prior registration.
