Nova Scotia Invited Early Childhood Educators in Latest Draw

Nova Scotia Invited Early Childhood Educators in Latest Draw

On December 20, 2022, Canadian province Nova Scotia conducted a provincial draw under the Nova Scotia Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Immigration pilot program. In this draw, applicants with an active Express Entry profile received an invitation to apply for a Canadian PR visa via the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) pathway.

Applicants with a current job profile as an Early Childhood Educator, old NOC 4214, were invited in this draw.

Now as a part of the application to immigrate to Nova Scotia, applicants need to apply for ECE Level 1, 2, or 3 classifications, to ensure the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in Nova Scotia that they have the required education and training to support quality early learning and child care. Applying for this classification is free, and involves two (2) steps, i.e.:

  • Pre-assessment: The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in Nova Scotia determines if the applicant has the minimum qualification(s) to work as an ECE in Nova Scotia on the basis of the copies of the documents.
  • Assessment: If the pre-assessment confirms the qualifications to work as an ECE in Nova Scotia, NSNP will share the instructions to apply to ECE Classification Services for a level of classification and obtain a pre-approval letter necessary for a job offer.

List of documents required for pre-assessment:

  • Transcripts for all post-secondary education (diplomas, degrees, or certificate programs)
  • Identification document (Government-issued ID)
  • IELTS – General Training/ CELPIP – General/ TEF – Canada/ TCF – Canada score
  • International credential assessment (course-by-course report, if possible) – Issued by a Canadian-recognized service, such as World Education Services Canada.
  • Other documents – Any other documents necessary e.g., Proof of name change if applicable.
