The province, known for its Community Driven Immigration Initiative, has outlined the following changes to its immigration criteria:

Updated In-Demand Occupations:

Applications will now be prioritized from individuals with recent experience in the following occupations:

  • NOC 42202: Early Childhood Educators and Assistants (with two years of recent experience teaching or assisting with children under 5 years old).
  • NOC 63200: Cooks
  • Trades Occupations: 72401 Heavy Duty Mechanics (Vehicle), 72106 Welders, 94124 Woodworking Machine Operators, 94213 Industrial Painters.
  • NOC 33102: Nurse’s Assistants (for applicants with two years of recent experience as a Nurse’s Aid, nurse’s assistant, or Health Care Aid, NOT as a nurse)

What is the eligibility criteria for Modern Manitoba?

To be eligible for Modern Manitoba’s Community Driven Immigration Initiative, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Possess 2 or more years of recent experience in an MCDII target occupation.
  • Hold a recent (within 2 years) general IELTS test score with a minimum of 5 in each band, or CLB5+ equivalency in French TEF/TCF.
  • Fall within the age range of 21 to 45 years.
  • Have no prior connections to other parts of Canada through friends, relatives, employment, or education.
  • Completed a post-secondary education or training program of at least one-year duration, resulting in a diploma, certificate, or degree.
  • Maintain settlement funds as stipulated by the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program.

What is the application process for Modern Manitoba?

The application process involves several key steps:

  • Qualification Assessment: Determine your eligibility for the program.
  • Application Submission: Apply for the Community Driven Immigration Initiative.
  • Support and Exploration: Selected candidates receive a support letter and, if applicable, an invitation for an exploratory visit to Morden.
  • Exploratory Visit (if required): Candidates conduct research on Morden and prepare for the MPNP application, which may include entering the MPNP’s EOI (Expression of Interest) pool.
  • MPNP Application: Once chosen from the EOI pool, applicants can apply online for the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program.
  • Nomination Letter: If minimum qualifications are met, candidates receive a Nomination Letter from MPNP.
  • Federal Application: Using the Nomination Letter, candidates apply for federal processing via Canada’s official website.
  • Review Process: Federal authorities conduct further assessments, including medical and criminal record checks.
  • Permanent Residence Visas: Upon approval, successful candidates receive Permanent Residence Visas, enabling them and their families to relocate to Morden.
