Ontario PNP invites 300 French speaking immigrants in the recent draw
On September 7, 2023, the French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) conducted a general draw, issuing a total of 300 Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to eligible candidates. These candidates fell within a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score range of 308 to 434. The OINP selected candidates from the pool of Express Entry profiles created in the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) system between September 7, 2022, and September 7, 2023. This draw reflects the province’s ongoing efforts to attract skilled French-speaking individuals who wish to settle in Ontario, contributing to its vibrant and diverse communities.

What are the requirements for Ontario Express Entry French Speaking Stream?
The requirements for the Ontario Express Entry French-Speaking Stream are as follows:
Work Experience: You must have at least one year of continuous paid full-time work experience (or the equivalent in paid part-time work) in TEER Category 0, 1, 2, or 3 of the National Occupational Classification (NOC). This experience should have been obtained within the last five years from the date of submitting your application, and it should be in the same primary occupation as identified in your
Express Entry profile
. Work experience can be gained in Canada or overseas.
Education: You must possess a Canadian bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree or its equivalent from another country. If your education was completed outside Canada, you need to obtain an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report from a designated organization to prove its equivalency to a Canadian credential.
Language Skills: You must demonstrate proficiency in English at Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 6 and in French at CLB level 7 or higher. You’ll need to take approved language tests, such as IELTS or CELPIP for English, and TEF or TCF Canada for French. These tests should not be more than two years old at the time of application.
Settlement Funds: You must have sufficient funds to support yourself and your dependent family members when you settle in Canada. This requirement can be met through various means, including bank statements, annual earnings from employment in Ontario, or a job offer in Ontario.
Intention to Live in Ontario: You must intend to live in Ontario after being granted permanent residence. This can be demonstrated through various ties to Ontario, such as work history, job offers, studying, volunteering, property ownership or leasing, visits, and personal relationships in the province.
Legal Status in Canada (if applicable): If you are applying from within Canada, you should have legal status (visitor record, study permit, or work permit) at the time of application and maintain that status until the time of nomination. ‘Implied status’ may apply if you have applied to renew/extend your temporary status document before its expiry date.
Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) Assessment: If you choose to be assessed under the FSWP, you must score at least 67 points on the six selection factors, which include education, language skills, work experience, age, arranged employment in Canada, and adaptability.
