On September 21, 2023, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) conducted a draw for the French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream. In this draw, a total of 63 Notifications of Interest (NOIs) were issued to eligible candidates. These candidates were selected from the Express Entry pool and had Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores ranging from 348 to 434. The OINP chose these candidates from Express Entry profiles that were created between September 21, 2022, and September 21, 2023. What are the requirements for French Speaking Skilled Workers Stream?

What is the process to apply for French Speaking Skilled Workers Stream?

The process of immigrating to Canada through the Ontario French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream can be completed within a 12-month period, and sometimes even faster. Here is a step-by-step guide to the entire process:

  • Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria for either the Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC) or the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Note that candidates eligible only under the Federal Skilled Trades Class are not eligible for this stream.
  • Create an Express Entry profile to enter the immigration pool.
  • Check if you meet the specific criteria for the Ontario French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream.
  • Wait to receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) from the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). Not all eligible candidates may receive an NOI.
  • Once you receive an NOI, apply to the OINP for a provincial nomination certificate within 45 days.
  • Upon successful nomination by the OINP, you will receive a provincial nomination.
  • This nomination gives you a significant boost in your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, adding 600 additional points to your profile.
  • You will then receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in a subsequent draw from the Express Entry pool.
  • After receiving the ITA, submit your application for permanent residence within 60 days.
  • Once approved, you will become a permanent resident of Canada.
