What is the eligibility criteria for SINP Occupation In-Demand?

What is the eligibility criteria for SINP Occupation In-Demand?

To be eligible for the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP), you must complete the following steps and meet certain criteria:

  • Residency and Refugee Status: You can qualify if you reside outside Canada or can provide proof of legal status within Canada. However, refugee claimants are not eligible.
  • Point Assessment: Score a minimum of 60 points out of 110 on the SINP point assessment grid. Points are awarded based on factors such as language proficiency, education, work experience, and other adaptability factors.
  • Language Proficiency: Obtain a language score of at least Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4. Note that some employers may require higher language scores.
  • Education and Credential Assessment: Have completed post-secondary education, training, or apprenticeship that is comparable to Canadian standards. For education obtained outside Canada, you must submit an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) from a designated organization listed by IRCC. Individuals who have completed trades or job training during high school must apply for Saskatchewan licensure.
  • Work Experience: Possess at least one year of full-time (minimum 30 hours per week) paid work experience in a high-skilled occupation (TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3) related to your field of education. The occupation should be in demand in Saskatchewan at the time of application. Work experience should be directly related to your occupation and education.
  • Professional Status and Licensure: Depending on the occupation, you may need to provide proof of professional status or eligibility for licensure. Refer to SINP Requirements Related to Professional Status or Licensure for more information.
  • Required Documentation: Include all necessary documents with your application. Incomplete applications will be returned, and the application fee will not be refunded.
  • Settlement Funds and Plan: Provide proof of settlement funds and submit a settlement plan as part of your application.
  • Application Fee: Pay a non-refundable $350 application fee online using Visa or Mastercard. This is the final step to submitting your application.

To apply for the SINP, you need to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) and enter the pool of eligible candidates. Invitation to Apply (ITA) is based on points scored in the EOI profile, and candidates with higher scores have a better chance of receiving an ITA. If invited, you must provide evidence to support the claimed points. Meeting the minimum points of the EOI Selection is necessary to remain eligible for nomination.

Misrepresentation in the EOI profile or application can lead to an investigation by the Program Integrity Unit (PIU), and if found, the applicant may face a suspension from using the SINP for two years or more in the case of a repeat offense.
