Alberta’s Immigration Plan for 2023

As per the Alberta PNP updates published on March 27th, 2023, Alberta planned to invite 9,750 applicants in 2023.

Nomination Certificate Limits

The maximum number of nomination certificates that the AAIP (Alberta Advantage Immigration Program) may issue each year is determined by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Express Entry and non-Express Entry pathways will each allow AAIP to award 9,750 nomination certificates in 2023 (which is subject to change throughout the year). Between 2024 and 2025, fictitious rises to more than 10,000 nomination allocations annually are anticipated.

These AAIP programs could alter at any time without prior notification. They are influenced in part by variable application volumes as well as how nomination allotments are expected to be used in 2023.

As of March 21st of 2023, 1,532 nomination certificates had already been issued, making these numbers current.

In 2023, there will be 4,875 invitations issued for the Non-Express Entry Stream.

Where Alberta Opportunity Stream where it is mandatory to have a job offer allocated 4,240 invitations to apply (ITA) throughout the year and under Rural Renewal Stream the allotted invitations to apply (ITA) to be issued in 2023 is 630 and it is mandatory to have a job offer from the designated employer whereas just 5 invitation to apply (ITA) were allotted to All (4) Entrepreneur Streams.

Express Entry Stream and Pathways were given 4,875 invitations to apply (ITA) which were equal to Non-Express Entry Stream. Where Family Connection and Occupation in Demand stream were allotted 1,219 ITAs. It is important to have an express entry profile, your NOC in the demand list of Alberta, or a strong family connection. Alongside the family connection and occupation in demand stream, Accelerated Tech Pathway also was allotted 1219 ITAs and it I important the applicant secure a job offer prior to initiating the process.

2437 invitations to apply (ITA) were shared with Sector Priorities where Healthcare workers were quite popular along with hospitality, tourism, construction, and agriculture.
