On December 21st, 2023 the IRCC conducted the latest Express Entry round of invitations with a focus on candidates in Agriculture and Agri-Food Occupations. This was the second time the draw was conducted for this field. They invited 400 people to apply for jobs in agriculture and food. To get invited, you needed a score of at least 386 on a special test. Canada wants skilled people to work in farming and food.

In the most recent Express Entry draws conducted by the Canadian immigration authorities, the following rounds were held:

  • On December 21, 2023, under the category of Agriculture and Agri-food occupations (2023-1), a total of 400 invitations were issued to candidates, with the lowest-ranked candidate invited possessing a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 386.
  • The draw held on December 20, 2023, targeted Transport occupations (2023-1), resulting in the issuance of 670 invitations. The lowest-ranked candidate invited in this round had a CRS score of 435.

Requirements for Qualification in the Agriculture and Agri-Food Occupations Category

To qualify for the Agriculture and Agri-Food Occupations category, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

  • Work Experience: Candidates are required to have a minimum of 6 months of continuous work experience in a single occupation listed in the provided table. This experience must have been acquired within the past 3 years, and it is immaterial whether the work experience was obtained in Canada or another country.
  • Round-Specific Requirements: In addition, applicants must meet all the specified criteria outlined in the instructions for the particular round they are applying for.
